Christmas!

This Christmas will go down in our family's history as the BEST Christmas ever! (well, until next year anyway!) Christmas morning was like a scene out of a movie. Avery woke up at 5:45 (yes, 5:45) and came running into our room, then back to the living room and back to our room again screaming "Santa came, Santa came!" Instead of trying to contain her we decided we were going to have to wake Garner up because Avery was going to explode if she didn't get to open presents VERY soon. Fortunately, during all the commotion, he woke up on his own and was not very happy until Avery ran in his room screaming "Santa came Garner! He brought us presents!" He then realized what was going on and they ran to the tree together and the looks on their faces can only be captured in my heart because a picture would not do it justice:) After opening their presents we played for awhile, I cooked a big breakfast and started preparing the food I was taking to my moms and Chase cooked the turkey on The Egg:). We went to my moms and hung out with family for the afternoon and then came home. It was simple. It was fun. It was perfect. I'm thankful for Jesus' birth for so many reasons but the joy it brings is indescribable!

But, I'm trying very hard to keep up with pictures and post them in my picasa web albums. Here is the web address for it so you can check anytime and see new pictures of the kids even when I dont have a new blog posted. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday and we wish you a very Merry CHRISTmas and hope everyone is truly blessed in 2011!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Both Chase and I had 4 days off to spend as a family and it was great. Thanksgiving day started a little rocky due to Garner grabbing a stocking and the VERY heavy stocking holder falling on his poor little toe:( After Chase holding him and trying to stop the bleeding for over 3 hours it finally stopped. He did not wear a shoe for a couple days but it seems to be healing a lot better than expected a week after it happened. The rest of the weekend was spent putting up the tree and inside decorations and putting our lights up outside. Andrew, Stephanie, & Ellis (baby Ellis as the kids call him) were in town and its always great to spend time with them. Ellis is getting so big and he is absolutely adorable. I'm a lucky aunt!! I have posted some pics of the weekend...hope yall enjoy!

His mean face

Ne-Ne and milk...what more does a boy need?

This is why you NEVER turn your back on Garner!

Avery's 1st Cheer Practice

Avery had her first cheer practice this past Sunday. She seemed a whole lot more into cheering than she did soccer! She picked it up pretty quickly and even started to learn their dance routine. It was too cute! The girls ages range from 4-7 so Avery was the youngest which is hard for her sometimes because she gets frustrated when she can't do something as well as others but she had a lot of fun and I think she's really going to enjoy it which is all that matters:)They will have several practices and then the first game will be on December 18th. Guess I'll have to brush up on my basketball knowledge and start liking it since I'll be going to a bunch of games! Next year...she's cheering for football!
Pics are really zoomed in and off my phone so they're not the best quality:(

Avery's Thanksgiving Program

Avery had her Thanksgiving program yesterday at school and it was SO cute! She was very shy at first and was looking around wondering why all these people were sitting there watching her sing but after a couple of songs she warmed up and did great! There were two classes in it and all the girls wore white bonnets and the boys wore pilgrim hats. It was adorable and we are so thankful for the teachers who worked with them on this and for the fact that our kids can go to a great school where they are taught about Jesus and how much He loves them!

Childrens Museum

This past Sunday we went to my niece, Savannah's, 6th birthday party at the Children's Museum. It was a blast!! It was the 1st time either of my kids had gone and they had so much fun. Garner would not get off the firetruck (go figure) and Avery loved the FedEx plane where she could run around it and slide down. They both really enjoyed the "little" Kroger where they could pretend to grocery shop and even check themselves out! It was such a great idea for a party we may be looking into it for their party next year!

I better never see him in the back of one of these again!

Weekend with our TX family

Toddy, Grammy, Uncle Bobby, & Uncle Tyler came to visit this past weekend and we had so much fun! It's so neat to see how the kids really remember them now and run to see them as soon as they drive up! Tyler (Bobby's best friend) has become their adopted uncle, as well as my adopted brother. He's just part of the family now:) The kids love the time they get to spend with them and as always it was sad to see them leave. They did get to see Avery's last soccer game while they where here which made Averys day! She actually kicked the ball a couple times for them and since it was her last game they got to see her receive her medal! We are hoping to see them again after Christmas either by them coming here or us going to stay a few days with them but hopefully all will work out.
We're so proud of her!

Facebook may become a thing of the past...

I'm trying the blog scene again bc I have many family members out-of-town who love seeing pics of the kids & facebook is a great way to keep in touch but it's also a great way for creepy people to find you & an even better way to get some unknown computer virus. With that being said I am going to give the blog thing a week or so & see if I can keep up with it now that I'm in front of a computer 3 days a week with nothing to do (just kidding Stephen if you ever read this). So, bare with me & lets see if I can get rid of facebook & get back the 25% of my life I've lost on it. I will learn as I go & upload pics, videos, & any funny things the kids do/say on here. It may not be as quick of a resource but it just might work:)
Here are a couple pics of the kids during Avery's soccer season. That is the latest in our family updates. Avery started soccer in August and well, all I can say is "at least she's having fun." But doesnt she look adorable?!
Our little soccer star!
